The popular Bristol Harbour Festival takes place this year from Friday 19th July through until Sunday 21st July on and around the historic Bristol waterfront. The event was originally created to celebrate the city's maritime heritage and of course, the importance of Bristol's docks and harbour.

The festival is suitable for all ages - and perfect for families - and includes a range of activities from child-friendly arts, crafts and games to street performances and live entertainment near the harbour front. There’s even a firework display to make the festival an event to truly remember!

Did you know?

The British Harbour Festival is an established event and was first hosted in Bristol in 1971 - in an attempt to stop the docks disappearing. The creation of the event played a big role in keeping the docks alive and over the years, tourists and locals to the event have grown with the highest recorded number of visitors reaching 300,000 people in 2012*.

In 2013, the Bristol Harbour Festival featured a pirate ship while past events have included artists such as Beth Rowley, the Hot 8 Brass Band, DJ Derek, The Blessing and VV Brown.
